Dominic is from West Belfast. His life took on a whole new direction at the end of 1980 when he came to know Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord. He was baptised and later became a member of Newtownbreda Baptist Church. There he became involved in various forms of outreach and also preaching of God's Word. He attended the Irish Baptist College from September 1987 and graduated in May 1990. Carol is from South-East Belfast. She was converted as a child and later baptised. She was a primary and nursery school teacher when she met Dominic.

They now have three children : Laura (8/5/82), Mark (9/9/83) and Timothy (3/3/88).

Dominic and carol joined the staff of Baptist Missions on 1st August 1990.

When Dominic and Carol began their church planting work in Athlone they became aware of the need to develop a firm trust with local people who had been hurt by, 'other gospels' in the past. Through the preaching of God's Word, pastoral care and encouragement and at the same time challenging younger Christians through discipleship courses. Dominic is seeking to build up  the believers. Carol and he are both involved in counselling those who frequently call at their home. The bi-monthly ladies meetings, prayer triplets and youth work called '1st&3rd', weekly 'Kidz klub' and other forms of outreach such as Summer teams, open-airs, Streetwork, Evangelistic Bible studies and Friendship evangelism are all means which are used to reach out to others with the 'Good news' of the gospel.

In 1993 a fellowship was formalised with a membership of nine people. In 1994 the house and grounds at West lodge were purchased. A meeting room was built. It was officially opened on 27th September 1997 and membership of the fellowship now stands at twenty.
