Continued…. We will also be starting a pre-baptism class with five people. Three of these were saved in recent months but we're hoping that others will attend the class if not actually go ahead and be baptised themselves. On Saturday, the 3rd October, we had our first wedding in the building. A couple who come into us from Mullingar and who are already legally married approached me a couple of months ago and asked if they might have a "church ceremony". Christy himself was saved just before the summer and was really keen that his family might hear the Gospel because of the occasion. We assured him that his seventy or so guests would be left in no doubt just what it takes to make a good marriage beginning with first vital step, a right relationship with Jesus Christ. It was a tremendous day and the Lord mightily blessed. Christy remarked that every table he went to during the reception was talking about God and the service. So Much to Praise God For. There is much going on in Athlone and we give the Lord thanks and praise for it. There are just so many indications of his blessing. The sense of His presence in our meetings is very special and the way I see how he applies His word to situations even as it is being shared is so thrilling. Our people are being given and readily accepting many opportunities to witness to family and friends. It is a joy to watch people develop and grow under the ministry of God's word. It has been such a thrill to watch those newly saved be so determined about their faith and standing even when the struggles come and words bite. We oursleves have been given a Toyota Previa eight-seater turbo-diesel people-carrier which is invaluable to our youth and children's works. A family who had been helping us with transport had to leave and move back to the USA and we were wondering how we would be able to transport the children to and from the Kidz Klub and at just the right time, the Lord provided. There is a growing sense of urgency and the need that is driving on our desire to reach the lost. We are a small group or orfinary people who are really beginning to wake up to the understanding that an Extraordinary God can do much through us but there is still so much more to be done.
